Here is a clip I recorded in Costa Rica´s 2010 International Arts Festival. It´s a street theater group from Germany called Titanick. In the video the French music group called Fanfare le Snob" is playing along a nice catchy song as lots and lots of fireworks appear in the sky behind them. It really was amazing!! :D

Today i´d like to show you some works that I really admire;Kosai Sekine is a Japanese film director, and he has done amazing shorts films that have been awarded in Cannes among others,

I like the way he entertains with short stories that show different sides of Japan´s society, besides, the visual composition is awesome! Check them out!

Busy but fine

It´s been a while since my last post, I´ve been very busy with work and projects.. but I think I like to be busy, (until some point of course).. recently it has helped me to think better about how are things going so it´s fine. By the way I applied to a scholarship to study visual media design in Shanghai, China, can´t wait to get the results.. but it will be announced until April :S! I hope it happens what´s best anyways, I´m try not to think about it a lot..

A poem and a song.

It´s been a while since my last post.. today I want to share a poem by Shuntarou Tanikawa, It´s called Ikiru, and it talks about the different; often unnoticed things we have in our lives..

It really made me think about how happy we can be if we want to, we don´t need more reasons to be happy than being alive.

If you want a translation please post a comment, though I think part of the feeling is lost when a poem or a text is translated to other language..

Peace?

I ´d like to ask if anybody knows what peace means; because it just seems that nobody knows what it actually means anymore...Obama getting a peace prize for the things he is supposedly going to do?? I mean, I´m not against him or anything, I just think that there are thousands of people who have done better things for peace and they don´t get any credit for that..

And it´s pretty understandable,it happens all the time; but this case is like getting your diploma before you pass your tests don´t you think?

I just can't help feeling upset about the way this world works sometimes, everything is about "power", and money.. Don´t misunderstand me, I do support Obama, what I don´t think is that one single person is going to be able to (or should) stop every war.

The good thing is; I know there are people out there who are doing incredible things for peace; in any of it´s facets. I mean, the fact that somebody does not get recognized for something does not mean he/she haven´t done something, right?. In my opinion, peace is a lot more complicated than just avoiding to attack other countries or getting prizes , and I think we are the ones who should change this panorama with our actions; caring more about other people, about the animals, rejecting stupid behaviors like racism and sexism and any kind of discrimination... and above all other things, peace is about feeling good with yourself, with your friends,is about being tolerant and being always ready to be there when somebody needs you.

I think it is in everybody to do something to change the world; wether if it´s being a better professional or being a better son.. the point is , I do believe that it´s up to us, and not only the governments to reach peace. It´s just that people love the idea of blaming governments for wars and unfair conditions while they just step back when the time to do something comes...

This was pretty off-topic; but I can´t help feeling disappointed when I see that people like fighting for the stupidest reasons, and how despite "development", the status quo keeps being above basically everything.

Decisions

Recently I read a post from my friend Kousuke about how hard it is to decide what you want to do in your life, and how difficult is to know when it it´s time for making a big decision; like when will I be ready to work, or what should I study etc..

The thing is, after I came back from Japan a lot of things changed in my mind...and it´s all about decisions after all.

Since I can remember I had always wanted to be a designer, I always kept drawing during classes at school, I loved to imagine things and beings where they were not, and I just liked the idea of creating my own worlds and sharing them with other people. Actually I´m pretty sure design is what I want to do for the rest of my life.. but when I started working, I realized how hard it is to create the designs you want when you always obviously have to stick to what the client wants. I guess it´s the hard part of it right?

But anyways; the point is... I realized that no matter what I do in my life, as much as I like this country; it´s my dream to go out, to explore different cultures, specifically I want to live in Japan someday, I want to meet new people, new places... so , that made me think if design is really going to allow me that someday.. I don´t know, sometimes I would like to study Japanese language and be a teacher and an interpreter someday... It´s really complicated how bad I want to split like in 5 persons and do everything at the same time xD

I think the problem is I find just too hard to decide what I want to do because I enjoy lots of things, I thought some years ago that music is what I was meant to do, because I liked to play violin and piano since I was a child; and not too long ago I was sure I wanted to be a cartoonist and a film director...

I guess I´m just worrying too much about the future, and that´s both good and bad I guess.. Maybe I should enjoy more the present because I won´t be young forever, but I still can´t help worrying about how am I going to be able to decide what I want to do... Time will tell I guess :)

Sometimes I can´t write properly what I´m thinking,(hope this isn´t the case), but anyways it´s not that important, it´s just more like something I feel I had to write.

I would like to recommend as well two awesome blogs from my friends Rua and Kousuke; they´re very interesting and they have way more time blogging that I have; so I really enjoy and learn from their blogs, hope you like them too!

Whatever you want to do, the start will always be the most difficult part; a drawing, a song, your career, a diet, an essay... it´s just natural to find difficult to create something out of nothing.

So I´m basically in the same position, I don´t know what to begin with when it comes to this blog, so comments and suggestions are very welcome. :)

Recently I had the opportunity to go to Japan through a programme called "Japanese-Language program for outstanding students" organized by the Japan Foundation. I had the chance to meet such an amazing country & I met awesome people from about 50 countries around the world.

I have no words to describe how awesome that was. I made really good friends there, I met places I never ever thought I´d meet at 18.. basically it changed my life and my way to see the world. Going to so many places, getting along perfectly in the other side of the world with so many different people, no matter race, country, religion, or language; really made me think that, this world is bigger than I imagined when it comes to variety, but we are really not that different when it comes to having a good time. Things like war and discrimination just seem more and more stupid to me. & it might sound unreal, but I do believe that lots and lots of people think this way too... who knows, maybe we are not as messed up as everyone wants to believe right?

Anyways, I leave you with this video from the farewell party in Japan. It´s a performance by friends from Argentina, Jordan, and Egypt. Hope you like it. I will be uploading other performances and some videos from Japan later!

1st entry..again

I erased everything I wrote on my blog (it wasn´t that much anyways) because I just didn´t find it interesting... so I´m starting again, this time with a new name, and a new header design (hope you like it).

Also, as you noticed I´ll write almost everything in english this time,because I have friends who can´t speak spanish & it´s easier this way...(by the way, english is not my first language so if you find mistakes please let me know)

I´ll upload pictures, thoughts, music reviews, some of my graphic works, that kind of things..

I can´t promise I´ll be updating every week, but at least I´ll try to make it interesting and update it whenever I have the chance..
